Brief History
In the spring of 2008, a group of dedicated men and women in Sacramento formed the Birth and Family Health Center in order to assure all women access to pregnancy and well-woman care. We have been a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the community from the beginning. Within the first few months of offering our services, we realized that we could improve our accessibility by collaborating with an organization that had a long history in Sacramento and decided to merge with the Effort, a non-profit health center in Sacramento whose goals and core values we share.  Our name changed to Birth and Family Health Center of the Effort, and we became part of the Federally Qualified Health Care Organization.
