Free pregnancy testing
Initiation of presumptive eligibility for Medi-cal
Treatment of vaginal infections and other gynecological complications
A wide variety of medical and counseling services in English and Spanish
Well-woman care, family planning, pregnancy counseling, and wellness education.

While quality medical care takes place on site, the center also works to connect its patients to the outside and social service care that they are rightfully entitled to, and that will keep them and their families healthy.
The Birth and Family Health Center of the Effort accepts Medi-cal and Family Pact, and facilitates eligible patients in attaining either plan.

Family Planning-

The clinic provides preventive reproductive health care; services include annual examinations, breast exams, pap smears, contraceptive management, STD screening and treatment, health education, counseling and treatment for common and often chronic women's health concerns.  Our goal is to empower women through support and education in combination with medical services so that they will be able to make the best healthcare decisions for themselves and their families.  Uninsured patients are assisted with the process of applying for Medi-cal or FPACT depending on their eligibility.

STD Testing-

The Birth and Family Center offers STD testing and treatment for both men and women. The center’s tests can detect Chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV, syphilis, human papillova virus (HPV), herpes (HSV), and trichomonas.
Most testing only requires a urine sample, although HIV tests require a blood draw.  Sometimes a pap-smear can be a helpful indicator for abnormalities, too.
Testing is offered for little to no cost, depending on your health insurance coverage.
